Who We Are

Welcome to Buckeye Catholic!


We are the Catholic campus ministry serving the undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff of The Ohio State University.


Residing across the street from campus on Lane Avenue, the St. Thomas More Newman Center is the home for our ministry.


Buckeye Catholic encompasses all campus ministry efforts present, including the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS), and Saint Paul’s Outreach (SPO).


We serve as one body to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with every student at Ohio State.

Our Mission is Clear

We are the epicenter for the evangelization of young adults in the Columbus area.


We operate within the Diocese of Columbus under the guidance of Bishop Earl K. Fernandes.


With the assistance of various Dominican friars, visiting priests and bishops across the state, Buckeye Catholic aims to create a home for all students at The Ohio State University.

By walking with students in their faith journey, we help foster a deep encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ.

As we walk with students in their faith journey, we guide them toward developing an intentional prayer life

We encourage students’ discovery, exploration and growth in the Catholic faith


Develop Leaders

We work to develop leaders that will go forth from Buckeye Catholic to lead parishes and the wider Catholic Church


Discern

We aid in the discernment of students’ vocation, God’s greater calling for their life
